The book concludes with an analysis of leadership attributes and management skills intended to bolster the capacity of field directors to influence organizational change. In chapter 14, Leadership and Management, Michael J. Holosko and Jeffrey Skinner familiarize the readers with their five core leadership attributes: having and implementing a vision, influencing others to act, collaborating, problem-solving, and creating positive change. They provide examples of how these attributes relate to various field director roles. Highlighting the elevated role of field education in the current educational standards, the authors stress the importance of field directors moving beyond management to assume leadership.
