Chapter 4
Developing and Maintaining Partnerships with Practice Settings
Cindy A. Hunter and Nancy Trantham Poe
Chapter 4, Developing and Maintaining Partnerships with Practice Settings, guides field directors in the tasks of recruiting, selecting, and evaluating setting; and the importance of crafting formal agreements with practice settings. The authors emphasize the value of marketing schools of social work to constituents and offer strategies for expanding the pool of educational opportunities for students, including international options. The authors promote the development of interorganizational partnerships that offer a more stable field structure where teaching, scholarship, and program renewal is a collaborative endeavor for all partners in the institutional arrangement.
