The North American Network of Field Educators and Directors (NANFED) was founded in 1987 to promote the interests of social work field education. Re-incorporated in 2013, NANFED is a network of field educators working together to independently represent field educators, promote and celebrate quality field education, and support best practices in field education.

The Council on Field Education is a council of the Commission on Educational Policy, through the Council on Social Work Education. CSWE is a national association of social work education programs and individuals that ensures and enhances the quality of social work education for a professional practice that promotes individual, family, and community well-being, and social and economic justice.

Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors. BPD has been instrumental in the development of undergraduate social work for entry level professional practice and has been a driving force in the development of generalist practice as the professional foundation for social work. As the primary organization that represents undergraduate social work, BPD maintains an informative website, active listserv, an array of supportive resources and publishes its own journal. 2014 BPD Field Committee Members: Janet Bradley, Martha Ellison, Cindy Hunter, Lynn Kaersvang, Shelagh Larkin, Julia Moen, Tammy Molina-Moore, Robin Wingo, Carey Winkler, and Riva Zeff.
